The format follows the basic D/S questioniare interview i.e.: biography, family tree, memories about the area, significant events, future prospects and proverb/ song.we thank you everyone who agreed with us or tell us his oral history about his area.
Brief background
However, the task was hard for us because, it was not easy to reach all the community of Refugee here in Kwazulu Natal, but we had done our best just to make our work or task to be done.
The KwaZulu-Natal Refugee Council (KZNRC) is a non profit organization and umbrella body of refugee communities and organizations as well as self-help initiatives based in the KwaZulu-Natal province registered with the Department of Social Development. Reg. No.040-718-NPO.
We are a community oriented organization as different refugee communities form our base with non discrimination regarding their race, religious and country of origin.
The main aim of the KZNRC is to promote a holistic integration in e-Thekwini Municipality and KZN, through provision of assistance in health care, welfare, education, employment, Skills Development and Trainings⦠and eradication of Afro-phobia.
Mix languages mainly English, a bit of French, Kiswahili. Very rough but interesting reflections precariousness of migrant groups in Durban and South Africa, Afro-fobia, civil war, HOPE, identity Pan African revolution⦠songs⦠proverbs and prayers.
